Jackson says: "The conventional saying is "好漢不吃眼前亏". 好漢, literally a hero, should avoid potential risk of 虧 or loss. As a creator, sometimes it's the opposite. You have to take chances that could lead to potential losses. It's part of the creative process to experiment and to 吃一點小虧, make some loss. And you learn from the experience to form the big picture."
